Santiago Sierra Latorre

His career in the field of physical infrastructure and public works has been consolidated with experience in both the private and public sectors, developing activities oriented to the technical and financial structuring of important urban and regional projects.

After working at the beginning of his career as an economic researcher and having worked in leading private sector firms such as Integral S.A., where he participated in the planning of road, mining, hydroelectric and river projects, the current Secretary of Physical Infrastructure of Antioquia joined the public sector and joined the Urban Development Company of Medellin (EDU).

There he was part of the team in charge of developing the technical, legal and financial structuring of Parques del Río Medellín project, as well as the elaboration of strategic proposals for the center of the capital of Antioquia.

Within the same entity, he progressively assumed responsibilities until he reached the position of Deputy Manager of Strategic Planning, where he contributed his knowledge and talent in the planning of multiple major projects for the city and its communities. With this important accumulation of experience, he joined the UNIDOS government in 2020, assuming the position of Director of Planning of the Secretariat of Physical Infrastructure of Antioquia and thanks to his important performance, he was later appointed Operations Manager of the same portfolio, a responsibility he assumed until his appointment as head of the Secretariat in 2021.
